Reviewing the Reviews

A series of posts in response to reviews of “Rewriting Hisstory.”

The following posts take advantage of the Web’s unique ability to provide a writer with an open and flexible space to respond quickly and thoroughly to criticism and in this case, “commentary.” The non-linear format also affords me the freedom to address issues when and how I see fit to do so, without the fretting over space and deadlines which tend to shorten the lives of even the most prolific journalists.

* “The Big Kisseloff”  by Harvey Klehr, Commentary, April 16, 2025

* “Sherlock Holmes and the Hiss Case” by Peter H. Irons, how a pair of barky dogs helped prove Hiss’s innocence, plus some comments on two hostile reviews by Harvey Klehr and David Chambers.

* “Last Soldier Standing,” by David  Chambers, Washington Examiner
